Long, long ago, there was no difference between heaven and the human world. Every corner was filled with happiness, until one day something unexpected happened. The archangel Lucifer fell in love with a girl. However this girl was already in love with another angel. Jealousy consumed Lucifer until he lost his mind and used his powers to transmute the girl into dew and the angel into starlight in order to separate the two lovers forever.
Lucifer knew he would be punished sooner or later, so he gathered a rebellious army and attempted to overthrow the reign of God. Afterwards, Lucifer and his rebel army failed and were expelled to Hell. Ever since Lucifer was expelled to hell, he has been planning his revenge. He is expanding his evil forces now, and has founded a demon-training camp, with the purpose being to destroy the Garden of Eden. Even worse, Lucifer believes now is the right time to take his revenge on God.

The man of wings was not only the absolute being but also a god in the Eresia Continent. With the man of wings ascension to heaven, the ancient civilization that had blossomed in the vicinity of Vartekal and Romune came to an end. The Europa Region, situated in the center of the continent was on the brink of crises due to the evil stones incredibly reckless acts, and witnessed its relation with a copious amount of legacies left by the man of wings.
After nearly a hundred years passed, numerous kingdoms across the continent collapsed, one after another with a multitude of evil monsters emerging. Worse yet, the remaining kingdoms fell into the hands of those monsters for almost 20 years.
After years of slavery, Grey the brave hero and his 12 valiant soldiers appeared. They eliminated the evil gods that were masterminding those monsters, paving the ground for an Empire under the name of Romune. Romune continued to be re-appointed as the emperor and expanded his domain to a degree where he held to re-connect the historical dots of YS-YS Online inherits the worldview of Ys series.
